Unknown Passions: Fan Fiction

Home Chapter 2

Theresa looked at the headline.

`Theresa Johnson's dad is truly Hitler!!!'

“What a load of crap.” She mumbled under her breath.

“What's that?” some perky girl with pigtails emerged from behind the counter.

“Nothing.” Theresa was quiet.

“What do you need?” she asked in the same bubbly voice.

“A room.” Theresa said in a complete opposite voice.

`What happened to me? I use to be like that.' A thought emerged in Theresa's head.

“How long exactly?” the girl asked.

“About 4 or 5 days.” Theresa told her.

The girl started to go through the computer.

Theresa looked down at the picture of her family.

They looked so happy.

She wished she could have that.

Then she handed Theresa a set of keys.

“My name is Jessica Bennett, and you will be staying in room 5.” Jessica told the girl in front of her.

Theresa noticed that Jessica girl staring back at her while taking her to room 5.

“Is there anything wrong.” Theresa said, trying to sound as nice as possible.

“Have I seen you somewhere before?” Jessica asked in a curious tone.

Theresa was starting to question how smart this town really was.

Then Theresa pulled out her wallet.

“My name is Theresa Johnson, and there will be a hundred in it for you if you don't mention a word about me.” Theresa couldn't believe she was bribing a kid for privacy.

“Why?” Jessica asked.

“Because I want my privacy, if I can't have fun in Paris I might as well enjoy time off.” Theresa told her bitterly.

Jessica just took the money.

“I won't tell anyone you're here.” Jessica turned and walked away.

Theresa felt bad.

She had just snapped at someone who didn't deserve it.

But at least she got some money out of it.

Then Theresa went into room 5.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ethan was in complete shock.
Had Pilar just run out on him?
But why?
Was it something he said?
Was it something he did?
Was it the tone in his voice?
Then he noticed a woman with blonde hair come up behind him.
“Hello mother.” He greeted her.
“Ethan.” She studied his face.
Then she paused for a moment.
“What's wrong?” Ivy said sounding concerned.
“Pilar just ran out of here crying, saying it was her 24th birthday.” Ethan said while still
trying to comprehend what happened earlier.
“Ethan Pilar is not 24 today.” Ivy stated.
“I'm not stupid mother, I meant someone else's 24th birthday.” Ethan shot back.
Ivy was stunned.
Her son was defitinally in a bad mood.
“What's the date today?” Ivy asked her son, knowing what was bothering Pilar.
“January 26. Why?” Ethan was a little thrown off by the question.
“I can't tell you Ethan, but be VERY nice to Pilar today.” Ivy commanded her son, and
then left for the gardens.
Ethan was a little stunned now.
That was the second woman today that had walked out on him.
But instead of following them he jetted off to the Book Café to see Chad.
Or anyone else for that matter.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Jessica just walked into the Book Café with ton of shopping bags.

She made her way over to the counter where she spotted Simone's friend, Chad, working.

“Hey, Chad right?” she questioned him.

Jessica never really knew the guy.

“Yeah.” He paused, “And you are Jessica?” he asked.

“Good guess.” She smiled a little.

“What can I get you?” he said in a fake perky voice.

“I'll have a latte, and you don't have to use that fake voice with me.” She told him.

She looked at Chad's face.

“How'd you guess.” He said in a now irritated voice.

“I invented that.” She told him as she got her latte.

“Good to know I can be irritated with you.” Chad told her.

Then Chad looked at Jessica's feet.

“Where did you get the money for all that stuff?” he asked while taking his gaze off the bags.

“Some visitor at the inn paid money to say I never saw them.” Jessica said in a perky voice.

“Who were they?” Chad was curious.

“That was what I was paid not to say.” Jessica eyed him.

“Come on, you can tell me.” Chad pleaded.

But before Jessica could get another word out of her mouth she heard someone else come up.

“Hey Chad!” she heard from across the room.

Jessica noticed Ethan Crane take a seat next to her.

“Jessica Bennett, right?” he asked.

“Yeah.” She replied.

“You will never believe what happened at the mansion today.” Ethan started.

“What?” Chad said while going to go get Ethan his usual drink.

“Pilar ran out crying, and then mother asked me what the date today was, and then she said leave Pilar alone today.” Ethan summed up the story.

“Is today 1/26?” Jessica chimed in.

“Yeah, do you know what's going on?” Ethan asked the young girl.

“Yeah.” Jessica's voice got dark.

“Then what?” Chad asked.

“Pilar was forced to give up a child 24 years ago to the day. I believe it was a girl named Theresa.” Jessica told them in a dismal tone.

“Why did Pilar confined in you?” Ethan asked.

“She confined in Miguel, he told Kay, and I happened to be eavesdropping.” Jessica told the two.

Then a light bulb went off in her head.

~*Flashback*~

Jessica looked down at the girl's driver's liscine.

It was apparently her 24th birthday today.

She wanted to say something, but assumed the girl was way to depressed.

Jessica couldn't understand why.

She would be happy to be 24.

But it wasn't her life.

~*End of Flashback*~

“Earth to Jessica.” She heard while being waved back to reality by Chad.

“Huh.” She said.

“Where were you just now?” Ethan asked.

Jessica picked up her bags.

“It's the girl Chad.” Was all she said, while running out of the Book Café?

“What the h*ll am I doing to women today to make them run away?” Ethan questioned his friend who was still stunned.
