Camp Calloway Chapter 4

Bolded words are apart od Incubus' Warning

Bat your eyes girl

"So who were you staring at earlier?" Chrissy questioned.

"What?"

"That guy that you were staring at, while I was gone."

"Him." she pushed away a bush blocking the path infront of her. "I hope that thing wasn't poisionus."

"It's wasn't, now who's the guy?" Chrissy persisted.

"Never met him in my life."

"I find that hard to believe."

"I thought he looked alot like my ex-boyfriend." she lied.

"If he looked like your ex then I find it hard to believe you broke up with him."

"He broke up with me."

'I'm a good liar.' Theresa thought inwardly.

"Then he's the idiot."

An akward silence overtook the two girs, as they made their way down the path.

Just then Chissy veered off the trail.

"Uh...where are you going?"

"Unless you want to walk a few hundred miles around the perimeter, I suggest you take this route." Chrissy stated.

"Uh..."

"Come on, you're a camp counsler. I'm assuming you are capable of hiking."

"Yeah. When I want to."

"I promise. You want to."

"So where exactly are we going?" Theresa asked.

"Can't really say, but it's worth it." she paused for a brief second, "trust me."

Be otherworldly

"May I see your employee list?" Ethan asked in the final part of the tour.

"Umm, of coarse Mr. Crane, but I ask why?"

"The reason why has no revlance to you, so why are you questiong my request. I would like to see the list of employees," he paused for a brief second, "perferriably this week." he demanded in a stern tone.

"Of coarse. I'll print you out a copy in a few moments."

"Thank you."

Count your blessings

"Have you ever just stared up at the stars at night?"

"Yeah. A few times before." Chrissy replied. "Why do you ask?"

"It just came to mind." She stopped talking for a moment, then continued on, "sometimes I think that's the only thing that could keep me sane."

"I know what you mean."

"This place is perfect for that."

"I could tell. It's not even night and I can see stars."

"You come from a small town don't you?"

"Next to a huge indrustial plant." she added.

"There's usually a lot of smoke clouding the sky. Expect Christmas. I remember going outside during Christmas, sitting on the bench outside, just waiting for Santa to come...sometimes I thought that the only reason it was clear had to do with Santa. So I could see him."

"That was random." Chrissy finally muttered a response. "What brought that on?"

"Remember that guy?"

"The ex-boyfriend."

"I lied. It was Ethan Crane."

"Seriously?"

Seduce a stranger

Theresa.

Th - Resa.

Resa.

It rolled off the tounge.

It fit.

He never skimmed over her file.

The name kept him entranced for at least 30 seconds.

Thinking of ways to pronounce it.

Theresa

Th - Resa

Resa.

And for the first time in...ever, he smiled.

A genunine smile.

Then he handed Anne back the paper.

The smile that was there not even a second before, dissappeared.

What's so wrong with being happy?

"What is this place?" Theresa asked.

"Club 75." Chrissy felt a grin spread over her lips.

"Counslers hang around here when they need to get out. Kids aren't idiotic enough to try to come here. Probably has something to do with then not knowing, or knowing we come here."

"Most likely against Anne's wishes."

"Anne is defintally in the dark when it comes to this place. Otherwise she would have put a fence around here or something."

"That should work." Theresa sarcastically stated.

"It'll keep the 6 year olds out."

"So are we ever going to go in?"

"That's the best part." Chrissy gave a smile.

"What?"

"Free back entrance into the VIP room." she waited for the look that everyone else gave her,  "I know the owner."

"There's a back entrance?"

"Yeah. Let's go."
