Unknown Passions: Fan Fiction

Hidden Chapter 3

Kyle looked sat straight up after he felt knew his Dad was gone.

How long ago was that man supposed to be home?

He assumed it was before 8, because he remembered Mom sitting on the couch watching the door from 7 to 8. After 8 she started to read another one of those sappy love books that cost $1.99 at any local Kroger.

Then he carefully lifted himself from the couch keeping a close eye on the on the kitchen where his Dad was sitting, while quietly making his way to the front door.

Carefully sneaking out of the house Kyle ran out on the lawn meeting up with Drew, Ryan, Parker, Craig, and Cory.

“Good timing dude.” Drew commented.

“No problem. So what exactly are we doing that you couldn't tell me earlier?”

“We're goin down to Borderline.” Ryan spoke up.

“Is it one of those night clubs anyone can get into?”

“21 & up. My Uncle owns the place and says we can get in as long as we don't drink.” Cory, who almost never spoke, finally said more than 2 syllables.

“Crap, it's more fun to sneak in.”

“Seems like you would know from experience.”

“I do.” Kyle stated simply.

“Cool. My car is over there. Let's move.” Drew announced.

Keith walked into the local club known as Borderline.

He had agreed to meet one of his friends who worked here, even though it was probably an attempt to set him up somehow.

God, he was a 37 year old man (it's late, I don't want to do the math, so I'm going with a Passions timeline), in a bar full a collage kids, expect for the fact that a few of his students were out on the dance floor.

WHAT!

Keith did a double take, amazed that the man out in front didn't notice that most of those kids were ages 15 or 16. They definitely looked the part.

Leaving a message with the bar tender for his friend, Keith made his way to the dance floor, and tapped Drew on the shoulder.

It was always fun to bust an unsuspecting teenager from a good time, and it was no different now. The look on his face was priceless.

“M-Mr. Logan?” he stuttered, grabbing the attention of his friends, and getting rid of the girl he was dancing with.

Keith just kept a stern teacher look, he had acquired through his years.

“Hey! What's with the whole not fun element with you people.” The boy Keith had seen earlier came up to the group.

Keith felt a weird connection to the new teenager, but shrugged it off.

“You are all busted.”

“What about your uncle?” Kyle asked.

“He's not here tonight, and the employees in this place mainly hate us.”

“Figures.” Kyle replied to Cory's comment.

“That's great, I'm taking you all home myself.” Keith intruded.

“Mr. Logan there are like 6 of us, we won't all fit in your car legally.” Parker spoke up.

“I own an Explorer.” He kept on a cold glare.

“You do know we drove here.” Craig announced.

“Leave the car here, get it in the morning.”

“Crap.” All of the group expect for the new guy muttered.

“You are all coming with me, he ushered the kids out of the blinding lights, hot bodies, and blaring music.

“Who are you and where do you live?” Keith asked his last passenger, Kyle.

“Why do you care?” Kyle shot back.

“Cause I am taking you to your house.”

“That's great, good luck finding your way.”

This kid reminded Keith so much of the most stubborn person he knew so long ago.

“It'd be so much easier if you gave me the address.”

“No it wouldn't. This is the way I see it, you either wake up my parents and get them mad at both you and I, thus halting any future relations with my family, which is on the line right now, or you can let me sneak back in, and we forget this whole thing.” Kyle tried to make a deal.

“Why would I want relations with your family anyway?”

“I have some strong connections between my 3 Uncles and not to mention my Dad.”

“Considering your ethnicity I'm assuming your family isn't in the mob, so I'm going with either the government or the underworld. But considering you're such a terrible bluffer, I'm going with a pafetic attempt to scare me.” Keith smiled, as Kyle felt outsmarted for the first time in his life.

“So do you mind telling me your name and where you live?” Keith asked.

Figuring is was too early to start using mind games, Kyle decided to answer truthfully. It wasn't like his parents could successfully enforce a punishment upon him.

His Dad was at the office so much, and well Mom, Mom was too forgiving and sweet.

The one person he loved more than life itself.

“Kyle. Take a right here and it's the second house on your left.” He laid back.

“I'm assuming you just moved here.” Keith asked.

“Yeah.”

“Where from?”

“I know you're a teacher, so ask me on Monday when I have my first day.” Kyle said as the Explorer pulled into the driveway.

Mr. Logan, and Kyle exited the vehicle, and walked up to the front door.

Keith rang the doorbell having no idea what awaited him on the other side.
