![]() The Chosen One Chapter 2
![]() `If she only knew.' He thought to himself.
`If she only knew what she was up against.'
He slowly walked up to the door, and knocked.
He only hoped she would be open to new ideas.
This would be a new one.
He didn't want to endanger her life, but it was too late.
They already knew who she was, and it was only a matter of time until they found her.
She needed training.
“Hello.”
He heard the door open.
“Do I know you?” She sounded confused.
“No.” his voice sounded fridged.
He could tell she started to worry.
“Are you Theresa Lopez-Fitzgerald?” he asked in a stern voice.
“Umm yes.” She responded.
“I'm here to help you.” He said in a frozen voice.
“I think you need to leave.” Theresa said in a concerned tone.
But he stopped the door before she could close it.
“You're making a mistake.” He told her.
“Exactly how, by defending my home.” Theresa shot back.
“I can tell you what happened earlier tonight in the park, and why.” He went on.
Theresa stood in silence.
How did this stranger know what happened.
“H-how did you know about that?” a shocked Theresa asked.
“There is a lot you need to know, you're in danger.” He replied.
Theresa didn't know what to say.
How did he know all this stuff?
“Come in.” She directed him inside.
“You need to come with me.” He instructed.
“To where?” she asked curiously.
“The health center.” He said quickly.
Theresa feared for her life, but at the same time she felt safe.
This man had a sense of protection of her.
She felt it.
“Let me write my family a note.” She said while searching for a pen and piece of paper.
One minute later Theresa was in the strange guys jeep.
She knew something was up.
She had to find out what it was.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Theresa and her `friend' pulled into the lot of the Harmony health center.
The ride over there was quiet.
The whole time she was studying the man.
He was defintally older, around 50, and was very serious.
He also had hurt in his eyes.
As if he had recently lost someone special.
He quietly got out of the car, and she followed.
They walked up to the front of the building, and then stopped.
“It's closed right now.” Theresa stated to the strange man.
He didn't answer.
He just took out a brick, which revealed a number pad.
“24679. Remember those numbers.” The man ordered.
Theresa nodded as she watched a piece of sidewalk slide back towards her, revealing a staircase leading underground.
“What is this?” she asked.
“You'll see.” He quietly said.
Theresa followed him down the stairs wondering what was going to await her.
