Unknown Passions: Fan Fiction

Hidden Chapter 2

“Kyle, how long does it take to walk?” Theresa asked her son.

“Sorry mom, met up with some people, and time flew by.” He smiled.

“Well considering I don't want to be the annoying mother who pesters her child about their friends, I'm going to say pizza is in the kitchen.”

“Thanks.” He walked away.

Theresa went back to her book, as Kyle walked back in the room.

“Umm, where's the kitchen?” he asked.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Keith Logan walked in to his empty home.
His incredibly huge empty home.
Yet another place tax dollars went, to protect him.
There was no way a regular teacher salary would ever be able to afford the place in which he lived.
Yet another difference from his old life, being an English teacher taught him to always use correct grammar. If he didn't the students had a tendency to call him on it. Last time that happened there was a major all out debate that he really never wanted to live through again.
God his life was so boring now. There use to be excitement and meaning in his existence on Earth, now he was another nameless face in the crowd.
Expect when the occasional parent would ask him do you have any idea who you look like.
Naturally he would force himself to say no.
But apparently Alistair's goal to leave a long living legacy of the Crane name had failed, because none of the kids had ever heard of the name Crane, expect the bird.
When Alistair had passed away, the company was left in the hands of Julian, and he had naturally brought down the Crane Empire.
It was expected.
He had heard that Harmony had a pool running to see when Julian would screw everything up.
Sheridan Lopez-Fitzgerald had won that pool, and quite some amount of money.
He sat down next to the fireplace on the huge couch looking up at the mantel.
One picture frame sat upon it.
One small tiny gold frame with a picture of huge brown eyes in the middle.
He would constantly look in to those brown eyes for hope when he was feeling down, and even in a picture they still provided him strength.
Keith looked outside the window only to see a few kids he taught hanging out with someone he had never seen in his life.
The guy probably went to private school or something like that, because the schools around here had a tendency to be somewhat small, as a result he himself, came to know each student.
Unless he was new to school.
Normally he wouldn't question who people he didn't know were, but something about this kid was different.
It's like he was connected to him in some strange way.
Just then the phone rang knocking him out of his thoughts.
Keith reached out for the phone and as quickly as it was picked up he dropped it back into the receiver.
Joey walked into his new home from his first day at work.
It was already 11:00 and he had promised Theresa he would have been home at 7:00.
God he was a bastard at times, and he knew it. But it was impossible to be perfect.
Walking into the living room he noticed his wife sleeping on the couch next to Kyle.
Pulling a blanket over the two he noticed how peaceful the two looked together, even if Kyle was a teenager now.
It was obvious how he had been growing apart from his son, and Theresa had been drawing closer.
Hell the only time he was civil or nice towards him was when his wife was around.
It was probably due to the infinite amount of business dinners he was forced to attend with family, which Kyle deeply hated.
Walking in to the kitchen for some food he saw a cold dinner plate waiting for him.
What he did for his job.
